1. Get started
■ Install SmartChip card and battery
Always switch the device off and disconnect the charger before removing the battery.
Keep all SmartChip cards out of the reach of small children.
For availability and information on using SmartChip card services, contact your
SmartChip card vendor. This may be the service provider or other vendor.
The SmartChip card and its contacts can easily be damaged by scratches or bending,
so be careful when handling, inserting, or removing the card.
To install the SmartChip card:
1. Press firmly and slide the top of the back
cover to release it; then remove the back
cover by lifting it from the phone.
2. After you have removed the back cover,
insert your fingernail under the battery
and lift it as shown.
3. Place a fingernail in the middle of the
metal SmartChip card holder. Then, unlatch
and swing the SmartChip card holder open.
4. Insert the SmartChip card into the holder
as shown, beveled corner first, with the
gold-colored contacts on the SmartChip
card face up (away from the phone).
5. Swing the SmartChip card holder closed.
The gold-colored contacts on the
SmartChip card meet the gold-colored
contacts on the inside of the phone. Gently
press the SmartChip card holder into the
phone until it clicks into place.
